SPARC is a collaborative initiative between the Office of Student Affairs and the Academic Advising Center. It was created in the summer of 2008 in order to further develop a campus culture that promotes student success inside and outside of the classroom. SPARC employs a marketing campaign that features the taglines, "Just Think" and "Just Ask", as well as student success workshops and resources.

Avoiding Burnout                                  3/31 and 4/1            Lori Throupe & Chris Inzirillo

So not gellin’? Do you feel as if you are spread too thin between class, assignments, and extracurricular? Are you just too stressed? As the semester begins to wind down do your best to avoid a burn out. Attend this workshop to learn how you can be gellin’ too.

Goal Setting                                         4/7 and 4/8                                      Roger Hoover

Don’t miss your goals. Setting and achieving goals is not as hard as you may think. Achieve your goals and win big! If you are unsure how to create, set, and accomplish your goals and want to learn how, this workshop is for you.

 

Managing Sports and Studying           4/14 and 4/15                                     Sara Kohout

Having trouble keeping your head in the game? Not quite sure how to balance your academics and practice schedule? Want to be sure that you perform academically and athletically to your fullest potential? Attend this workshop to learn how.

Study Strategies                                4/21 and 4/22                                   Stacy Davidson

Having difficulty comprehending that textbook? Notes don’t make sense? Don’t know what studying means? This workshop will answer all these questions for you and teach you skills to improve your study habits.

Preparing for Final Exams                4/28 and 4/29                                   Stacy Davidson

At least that is what you should be thinking at the end of the semester. Preparing for final exams can be overwhelming. This workshop will help you manage your study time and balance the demands of final exams.
